Katie, and it is not even close. For what its worth, despite being a nutcase feminist, I think she actually was a virgin when she got married. Didn’t think it worth pointing out before. To wit:
Katie reminds me of some progressive Mennonites. They live out most of the core biblical precepts while reaping the associated benefits of doing so. I think she’ll be faithful to her husband, provide him children, and not sleep around. She probably even likes having sex with her husband. They probably have a genuinely happy marriage.
But she’s a fraud. She is following the right script but doesn’t understand it. She practices one thing and preaches another to her women readers, who will be riddled with failed relationships if they follow her advice. If she ever follows her own advice (maybe, maybe not), a frivorce is sure to follow.

Before I married my wife, I made it clear that I found her face more attractive without makeup and that she didn’t need any. I strongly discouraged its use. To this day she only wears small amounts of makeup for certain dress-up social events (e.g. weddings) a couple times a year. In such moderation, it is actually a nice change of pace when it happens.

We’ve all had that programming to a certain extent. Any time you rebel against lawful authority be it God, your dad and mom, lawful superiors…that’s the ‘FI’. It starts to turn around when you realize obedience to God’s commands doesn’t take away from your authority but allows you to see it and respect it.
I think it’s pretty much default position for women to rebel against their husband or father unless they submit to God. What us men need to do is not go down that road just to get chick (because being a rebel will certainly attract a fair share of them…but they certainly aren’t the best for you spiritually or mentally).
My eyes started opening up when I submitted to God and prayed for the grace of chastity. My sexual sins were undermining my masculinity and perhaps were some of the root of my disrespecting lawful authority. I can’t help but think it could also be the case for most women.
